Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today visited various areas in Chrar-e-Sharief constituency and took stock of developmental works under execution in these areas.The Minister inspected ongoing construction work on the new building for Sub-District Hospital Chrar-e-Sharief coming up at a cost of Rs 11.35 crore. He was informed that Rs 5.6 crore has been incurred on the project so far and the work on the building is apace.The Minister directed the executing agency - Jammu & Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) to redouble their efforts and speed up the pace of work and complete the building within three months. He also directed the concerned for release of Rs 2 crore immediately to ensure that the work on the building is completed in the stipulated time.
Meanwhile, the Minister while interacting with the hospital authorities instructed them to ensure that quality healthcare is provided to the patients.Hanjura also directed them to ensure cleanliness in and around the hospital besides maintaining proper hygienic conditions.Earlier, the Minister also visited Government Higher Secondary School, Chrar-e-Sharief and inspected the proposed site for construction of eight additional classrooms. He was informed that a Detailed Project Report at an estimated cost of Rs 1.75 crore has been prepared and work on the building will start soon. The Minister directed the concerned to revise estimates after incorporating the necessary changes in accordance with the specific needs of the people and ensure that the building is completed at the earliest.
The Principal of the College, putting forth certain demands, requested the Minister to help facilitate introduction of newer streams in the College including geography, computer, archeology and Kashmiri.Later, the Minister visited Treatment Plant-Water Supply Scheme, Manoo Charar-e-Sharief and took stock of its functioning. He also inspected Water Testing Lab there.Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mr. Altaf Ahmed Mir, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Chief Executive Officer, Yousmarg Development Authority and other senior officers of Budgam district administration accompanied the Minister during his tour.
