GIC earns profit of Rs. 815 lakh

The General Industries Corporation Ltd. earned profit of Rs. 814.97 lakh during the current financial year. This was disclosed in the 196th meeting of BOD of GIC held here today under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.The Corporation registered profit of Rs. 795.45 lakh during the current financial year from country liquor plant at Mehatpur and Parwanoo. It was informed that the furniture factory at Bilaspur registered a profit of Rs. 47.55 lakh during the current financial year.Speaking on the occasion Shri Agnihotri asked the employees of the Corporation to diversify its activities so as to make all its ventures profitable. He also asked the Corporation to explore possibility of setting up of mineral or soda water plant at Mehatpur in Una District.Shri Rajinder Singh Director Industries and M.D. GIC welcomed the Minister and other BOD Members and conducted proceedings of the meeting.

Members of BOD of GIC gave there valuable suggestion on the occasion.Principal Secretary Industries Shri R.D. Dhiman, Special Secretary Finance Shri Rajesh Sharma and other senior officers attended the meeting.

168th meeting of BoD of State Handicraft and Handloom Corporation held

The Himachal Pradesh State Handicraft and Handloom Corporation has registered profit of Rs. 471.10 lakh during the current financial year till May, 2015, thereby registering an increase of Rs. 213.97 lakh from the corresponding period of last year. This was disclosed by Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihori while presiding over the 168th meeting of Board of Director of Himachal Pradesh State Handicraft and Handloom Corporation held here today.

 Shri Agnihotri said that the total sale of Corporation for the year ending 31st March,, 2015 was Rs. 2516.77 lakh against the target of Rs. 1705 lakh thereby registering an increase of Rs. 811.77 lakh. He said that the Corporation was running 113 training centers in different trades throughout the State and 38 Centers would be opened soon.Managing Director Himachal Pradesh State Handicraft and Handloom Corporation welcomed the Chief Guest and conducted the proceedings of the meeting.Principal Secretary Industries Shri R.D. Dhiman, Director Industries Shri Rajender Singh Special Secretary Finance Shri Rajesh Sharma and the senior officers attended the meeting.

220th Meeting of Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board

220th Meeting of Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board was held here today under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri.Speaking on the occasion, Shri Agnihotri said that the Khadi and Village Industries should not only diversify its activities, but also bring qualitative changes in its products as per demand of the industries.He said that the Corporation had provided employment to about 2000 people in its approved 295 units. He said that the total cost of these units was Rs. 1856.50 lakh out of which Rs.597.87 lakh were provided as margin money. He said that 30 units worth Rs. 160.50 lakh had been approved during the current financial year, which were providing employment to as many as 160 people.Vice Chairman Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board thanked the Industries Minister for taking keen interest in strengthening activities of the Board. He urged the Minister to provide adequate staff for better functioning of the Board.Shri Rakesh Sharma, CEO Khadi Board welcomed the Minister and conducted proceeding of the meeting.Principal Secretary Industries Shri R.D. Dhiman, Director Industries Shri Rajender Singh Special Secretary Finance Shri Rajesh Sharma and the senior officers attended the meeting.
