Stating that present dispensation led by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is committed for holistic development and empowerment of people of the State particularly living in far-flung areas, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Abdul Haq has said the government is pursuing hard for the sustained development and socio-economic uplift of the people.The Minister said this while addressing a large gathering of public after inaugurating Community Facilitation Centre (CFC) at Kukarbagh in Khag block of Budgam district on Wednesday.The CFC has been constructed at a cost of Rs 45 lakh under Border Area Development Program (BADP) and will facilitate the people of Kukarbagh, Shugam, Shuglpora, Zugyaar and other villages of Khag block.
Mr. Haq said the people of the State have given us mandate to address their problems and fulfill their aspirations and in this regard all possible measures will be taken. He said the Community Facilitation Centre would be useful for the locals during social functions.
Mr. Haq said several initiatives are in pipeline on developmental front to ensure all round development and transformation of the State which will have no parallels in the annals of history. He said development of rural and remote areas will be ensured by implementation of different Rural Developmental schemes and will be instrumental in changing the socio-economic profile of the people living in these areas, besides providing much needed employment opportunities to them.Asking the people to come forward and actively involve themselves in the day to day governance by providing feedback about the status of implementation of various schemes, the Minister said that it is the prime responsibility of the government to provide all basic facilities at the doorsteps of the common people.Former MLA, Beerwah, Dr Shafi Ahmad Wani, Director Rural Development, Kashmir, Mr. Tasaduq Jeelani, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Assistant Commissioner Development, Budgam and other officers and public representatives were present on the occasion.Earlier, The Director RDD in his welcome address gave brief about the other developmental progammes being carried out in the block Khag.Former MLA, Dr Shafi Ahmad Wani alos spoke on the occasion.
