Showing his resentment towards the inquiry conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in August 9 and 10 Kishtwar and Padder clashes, BJP senior leader Sunil Sharma said that it has lost its credibility as the main culprits and criminal elements behind Kishtwar violence are still roaming free, while the innocent and poor people are being harassed and lodged in jails. While addressing a press conference at party headquarters at Jammu on Wednesday, Sunil Sharma, while citing example of Ashish Kumar son of Subash Chander, a resident of Bera Bhata, said that this youth was framed by the police in murder case. He said that the said person was in Jammu on the day of violence and added that there are sufficient proofs to authenticate that he is innocent. He said that this is not the only case where SIT has framed innocent people and added that majority of them are innocent. Similarly Omkar Singh Sarpanch Padder has been charge-sheeted under 307 CRPC though it was known to everybody that during riots in Padder he was helping the administration and remained along with Tehsildar and SHO Padder throughout the day on 10th of Aug 2013.This has created utter dissatisfaction and deep resentment among the nationalists. He said that the main culprits were roaming free as they enjoy the patronage of political bosses. He demanded immediate release of all the innocent youths, beside appointment of DIG ranked officers as a head of SIT so that free and fair inquiry could be conducted. He also said that his party is stick to its demand of CBI probe in Kishtwar violence. He said that the real culprits involved in Kishtwar violence could be brought to book only through CBI probe as the people have lost faith on state agencies. He condemned the administration and police for their failure to prevent anti India slogans during Eid procession. He said that anti national elements openly challenges the police and administration and raised anti India, pro freedom, pro Geelani and pro Taliban slogans outside temple at old Bazaar Kishtwar. He said that anti India slogans on Eid day proves that anti national and anti social elements involved in destabilizing peace in Kishtwar District are still rooming free and demanded their immediate arrest. “Police has, though, registered FIR No : 200 at Police Station, Kishtwar, in connection with anti India slogans during Eid procession, but no formal arrest has been made so far” said Sunil Sharma.
He also slammed the Kishtwar administration for not releasing compensation in favour of the victims. He said that the formalities demanded by the administration for release of compensation clearly show that government is not willing to fulfil its promise made by them with various public representatives in various public meetings. He demanded immediate release of compensation in favour of victims without any further delay.Reacting to the news item published in a local daily regarding attack on former MoS Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo inside Dak Banglow Kishtwar, Sunil Sharma said that government of Jammu and Kashmir must reveal the names of those persons involved in the said attack. He said that being as local, people of Kishtwar pin down their hopes on him that he (Kichloo) will safeguard their lives and property as a minister. He said that Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo has failed to protect the lives and property of the common people of Kishtwar. BJP State Secretary & Kishtwar Prabhari Munish Sharma, Kishtwar BJP District President Rajinder Singh and Distt. General Secretary Lalit Sharma were also present in the press conference.
