The ruling BJP on Wednesday said that the party is striving to make Jammu and Kashmir a tourist hub and wants to make it prosperous and peaceful besides ensuring its overall development.According to KNS correspondent, a press conference was held here on Tuesday in local hotel by the BJP workers in connection with its membership drive in Kashmir valley.
BJP leaders claimed that in parliament election, the party got 15thousand votes while as in assembly elections BJP secured 50 thousand votes. “Now we have three lakh and thirty thousand active members in Kashmir,” they claimed.Besides scores of the BJP workers who were present on the occasion, other party leaders who spoke to press include Nazir Ahmad, Ramesh Aurora, Bashir Ahmad, Anush Rai Khanna and others.
Ramesh Aurora while addressing press said, “We want to take forward handicraft industry of Kashmir and want to make valley a peaceful state. But at the same time I want to tell people here that if you want to develop Kashmir into a prosperous state, people need to work much harder” he said.Raj Sabha member Anush Rai Khanna addressed the press, saying that Jammu and Kashmir is an important state for BJP in terms of development. “We want to make J K one of the best states in India” he said.Khanna mentioned that the party aims to make valley an international tourist hub so that more income is generated more and more people will get benefit out of it.
