As the killing spree continued in north Kashmir’s restive Sopore town with the killing of another person on Monday, Huriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq held an emergency meet of its executive members on Wednesday morning,Sources privy to this development told KNS that the latest developments in Kashmir valley were discussed in the meeting on Wednesday held at Mirwaiz’s residence Nigeen.The meet as per sources was presided over by Mirwaiz and attended by all the executive members of the amalgam. “The latest developments including the unfortunate killings taking place in Sopore were discussed besides the joint protest program issued by Kashmir’s Pro- Freedom camp earlier,” sources divulged.The meet was first after one of the executive members of the conglomerate Aga Syed Hasaan parted ways from Huriyat. Aga had earlier shot a detailed letter to Mirwaiz expressing his dismay over the functioning of the forum.Later, Huriyat (M) in a detailed statement expelled Aga while terming his remarks unfortunate and uncalled for.Meanwhile, sources said that Wednesday’s meeting lasted for more than four hours with the future strategy of the amalgam discussed at threadbare. Besides Mirwaiz Umar Farroq, the meet was attended by Bilal Gani Lone, Mukhtar Waza, Musadiq Adil and Masrooq Abas Ansari.
