Ansari inaugurates sensitization workshop on Innovative Best Practices in e-Governance

One-day sensitization workshop on Innovative Best Practices in e-Governance of Mission Mode Projects (MMPs) was conducted under the aegis of “Capacity Building” Programmes of Mission Mode Projects of State Governments and Government of India.The workshop was organized by the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS), Hyderabad in association with J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD), Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir.The programme was inaugurated by Minister for IT, Technical Education, Youth Services & Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari.In his inaugural address, the Minister emphasized the need for use of information technology to provide effective, efficient and citizen-friendly services through e-Governance system to the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

During discussion with the Director of CIPS, Mr D Chakrapani, the Minister shared his views and asked to find solutions for  digitalization of Government files as it is major requirement for the State in the wake of seasonal shifting of Secretariat from Jammu to Kashmir and vice versa. Moulvi Ansari also expressed his interest to work on a proposal of the same followed by implementation in the State on a project basis. The Director, CIPS has agreed to help in this regard and will work on a project basis.

Nirmal Sharma, Director General, IMPARD welcomed the participants and the resource persons of the event. She emphasized on significance of IT in providing effective service delivery to the common citizens.D. Chakrapani, IAS (Retd.), Director, CIPS, Hyderabad introduced the theme of one day sensitization workshop and shared the five year journey of CISP and various activities under taken in different States in India.There were six technical sessions in the workshop and these sessions were delivered by the eminent resource persons like Dr. Dinesh Kumar Tyagi, CEO of Common Service Centre, e-Governance Services India Limited, Govt. of India on Delivery of Government Services: A Citizen Perspectives.

The second presentation was on Innovations/Best Practices of AGMARKNET in Punjab made by Dr. Dipinder Singh Secretary, Punjab State Agricultural Marketing Board-PSAMB. He discussed various innovative practices of Agriculture being implemented in the State. 

The third presentation was by Anshul Kumar Aggarwal on NIC Role in e-Governance of J&K: Success Stories & Miles to Go.

He discussed different perspectives of e-Governance initiatives being developed by NIC.The fourth lecture was by Col Jagdish Jamwal on Digital India & e-Kranti and MeeSeva: A Citizen Centric e-Governance Initiatives of Andhra Pradesh.He discussed on digital India and mentioned how the common citizen can access various services in his/her doorsteps.

The fifth presentation was on e-Panchayat by Mr. D. Chakrapani, IAS (Retd.), Director, CIPS. He emphasized on strengthening of e-Governance in Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs). He also mentioned to build capacities of the PRIs for an effective adoption of the e-Governance initiatives.The final presentation was made by Dr. Ramesh Chandra Sethi (Project Officer, CIPS) on Digital Secretariat of Chhattisgarh followed by the concluding session. More than one hundred officers of various Government Departments attended the Workshop.
