Ramban DRSC reviews condition of highway, other roads

The District Road Safety Committee(DRFC) today reviewed the condition of the Jammu – Srinagar highway and other roads of the Ramban district here at a meeting chaired by deputy commissioner, Farooq Ahmed Bukhari.The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Ramban, Chief Planning Officer, Xen PWD, ARTO, CEO, Dy. SPs of Police and Traffic Police, officer of Beacon and representatives of Quick Reaction Team (NGO) Ramban.The DC reviewed the action taken by the member agencies of Road Safety Committee to implement the decisions of the last meeting. The DC directed the Beacon and other agencies to take every step to maintain the road well and traffic worthy.  He directed the agencies to complete patch work where needed for smooth plying of vehicles.

He also directed the agencies to station the machineries at the key places to meet any emergency in case of land sliding on NHA1.“ Sick Patches at Nashri, Kunfer Bridge, 151-Seri Slide Area, Digdole, Khooni Nallah, Anookhi Fall, Ramsoo and Hingni and other land sliding areas should have easy accesses to heavy machinery” deputy commissioner stressed.  He also asked to fix sign boards at accidental prone areas to aware the commuters and drivers.  The PWD and PMGSY were instructed to maintain the link roads by proper filling of pot holes.
