Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats, Abdul Haq has said that youth of valley have great talent and potential in sports activities and have exhibited their talent and potential at national and international sports events. The Minister said this while addressing a gathering of participants of District Level Martial Art Competition organized by J&K Martial Art Academy here today.MLC, Khurshid Alam was also present on the occasion.Haq urged upon students to take active part in sports activities to boost their hidden talent to become physically and mentally sound so that they could excel in the world of competition.

Haq said that government is keen to upgrade the sports infrastructure to provide better platform to the budding talent of the State. He said our youth are enriched with sports spirit and all out efforts are being utilized to channelize their talent in right direction. He also urged upon heads of educational institutes to identify the talented students having sports spirit and encourage them by way of providing appropriate platform.During the event 500 students from different schools of Srinagar district participated and exhibited their talent and got applause from the audience.Later, the Minister gave away awards and trophies to the winners.
