Punjab Government is making sincere efforts to further strengthen the infrastructure of Health System in the state also to provide better health services to the people on low cost.Disclosing this here today Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu CPS said that Punjab Health department is committed to provide health services to the people in a transparent manner. She said that in the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal & Health Minister Mr. Surjit Kumar Jayani all efforts are being made to provide quality health services to the people especially to the poor in the rural areas.She said that Health Minister Mr. Surjit Kumar Jayani has assigned her duty to check all the hospitals in the state. Issuing a warning to the government doctors doing private practice she said that they should put an end to this and government doctors should prescribe free medicines available at hospital drug stores on priority. She further said that commissions in tests and ultra sounds etc should be stopped immediately and if anybody found guilty would not be spared.

She added that all hospitals would be inspected alongwith the concerned MLA rising above the politics and all problems would be solved.Dr. Sidhu said that dress code is mandatory for doctors and nurses and designation name badges should be ensured on dresses. She also said that list of all free medicines being supplied should be put on the notice board and duty chart of doctors also.Dr. Sidhu said that she would be present at office in Punjab civil Sectriate on every Wednesday & Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm. She also said that Halth Minister Mr. Jayani has made it clear that CMO’s and SMO’s would be responsible for smooth functioning of hospitals and corruption won’t be tolerated at any level. She further said that our main motive is to provide good health care to the people in transparent way and not to harass anyone.
