MLC Shyam Lal Bhagat yesterday convened a meeting of representatives of PRI at Block Headquarter Kashtigarh. Sarpanches, Panches, prominent citizens besides officers of the District Administration attended the meeting.While speaking on the occasion, the MLC stressed upon strengthening of PRIs in the District and asked Assistant commissioner Development Doda, Susheel Kumar to conduct frequent meetings with the panchas and sarpanches so that they are also involved in the developmental pyramid.He further added that Panchs, Sarpanchs being the locals are stake holders in every developmental activity in the area and appealed to them to actively participate in the planning and execution process of the ongoing projects in their areas.
To improve the performance of education system in the state, the MLC further asked the panchs and sarpanchs to work in a transparent manner in the Village Education committees so that desired objective of these committees are achieved.Besides, various issues including the road restoration, drinking water facilities, shortage of staff in the rural areas and stock position of ration were deliberated in the meeting and necessary instructions were issued to the concerned.
