Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today inspected the land fill site at Achan in the Srinagar city.He was accompanied by Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department, Mr. Bipul Pathak, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Mr. Tufail Ahmed Matoo, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Mr. Soujanya Sharma and other senior officers.Interacting with the locals and officers at the site, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Government is committed to accelerate the pace of development in the capital cities of the State on modern lines so that people get the requisite facilities. He said that proper monitoring is also being done on various prestigious projects so that these are completed in a time bound manner.It is pertinent to mention that the Achan land fill site is an endeavour of the Government to explore the possibility of solid waste management on modern and scientific basis and in consonance with the environmental issues.
