Deputy Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar, today reviewed preparation for re-constitution of Village Education Committees in the district.The DC informed that the government has decided to revive ‘Village Education Committees’ (VEC) in the state. The VEC will play a major role in developing proper education system in the state with emphasis on improving school plans, monitoring enrolment, and retention of students, compulsory education to girl child and other minority groups. Kumar directed the ZEOs, BDOs, CRPs and ZRPs to mobilize all the stake holders and ensure that the programmes for constitution of these committees across the district to be held on 14th of June 2015 at school level are attended by maximum people.To make the event a grand success, BDOs were directed to organize PRI meetings in each panchayat on 13th of June 2015 and apprise all the representatives of PRIs about the importance of the committees.ACD, Susheel Kumar, CPO, Yoginder Katoch, CEO, Ajit Kumar Sharma, Principal DIET, K.L Parihar besides BDOs, ZEOs, ZRPs, CRPs and coordinators attended the meeting.
