Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs, Ch Zulfkar Ali today said the district administration is pivotal to delivering larger objective of sustainable development at the cutting-edge level.Speaking at a meeting to review the progress of works under the district plan, the Minister impressed upon the officers to formulate development plans as per the local needs and requirements.“The Government’s endeavor is to provide conducive atmosphere for promoting comprehensive and integrated development through transparent and accountable governance,” the Minister said.MLA Dooru , Syed Farooq Ahmad  Andrabi, MLA Kokernag, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather, Ex-MLA Pahalgam, Mr. Mohammad Rafi Mir, Ex-MLC, Ch Nizam-ud-Din Khatana were also present in the meeting.

Reviewing the progress in PHE sector, it was given out that Rs. 4. 30 crore have been released under SDRF for temporary restoration of 290 damaged water supply schemes and other related works. Under district sector five water supply schemes were completed at Cheertanzi, Dahran, Mantpora,, Achabal, Akhoonpora and Vai and 11 habitations were covered under the scheme benefiting  18894 souls.The meeting was informed that  for the restoration of road connectivity Rs 68.49 lakh  were spent on  temporary restoration of fully damaged bridges and diversions  besides  flood affected 322 km road length was restored at a expenditure of Rs 3 cr in the district under R&B sector .Under MG NREGA, 72160 job cards were issued and 7157 works taken up including spillover works. Out of these 4635 works were completed with an expenditure of Rs 21.16 cr generating 4.81 lakh man-days while under IAY, 1234 residential houses were completed with an expenditure of Rs 6.34cr.

Likewise under horticulture sector,  against an availability of Rs 6.40 lacs for the year 2014-15, an amount of Rs 3.20 lac  was expended on farm-mechanization schemes  under which 20 power sprayers were provided to 20 beneficiaries  at subsidized rate of Rs 12000 while as under agriculture sector against an allocation of  Rs 3.37 lacs have  been spent .

Regarding Tribal Sub Plan the minister was informed that Rs. 115.48 lakh were released out of which 95.172 lacs were expended on Agriculture, Fisheries, Handicrafts, Irrigation, Flood Control, Soil Conservation and Social Forestry.Similarly under Article 275(1),  Rs  2.07 crore were released under special central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan  out of which Rs 187.27 lakh were expended during last fiscal.The Minister announced Rs 5 crore for completion of the Eklavya residential school and further directed DDC to submit detailed Action Plan under TSP for the year 2015-16 in consultation with local MLAs.Earlier, DDC Anantnag gave a detailed presentation regarding   physical and financial achievements of various sectors during the last fiscal.
