Govt expanding advanced sports services in J&K: Sham

Minister for PHE, Sham Lal Sharma, today said that the government is expanding advanced sports edifice in the state with focus on rural and remote pockets. This was stated by the Minister while attending a function of wrestling competition at Dussehra Ground Akhnoor here today. Speaking on the occasion, Sham appreciated the organizers for conducting such type of events will help the state's wrestlers to further improve their talent. These events also help in promoting friendly relationship among the people of different cultures and traditions. He hoped that organizer will continue such type of efforts to encourage the sports talent in the State.Several wrestlers drawn from various parts of the state as well as other states participated in the event which was witnessed by a large number of people. The Minister congratulated the winners and exhorted upon the youth to keep away from drug abuse and take care of their health. He also asked the youths to keep themselves physically fit by taking part in games and sports. He said that National level wrestlers have come to participate in dangal and efforts would be made to bring more International wrestlers from different countries.
