The Minister for Rural Development and Panchyati Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha has directed the pisional administration Kashmir to put in place a fool proof mechanism and synergize their efforts, so that people do not face any inconvenience during the ensuing Eid.The Minister was chairing a high level meeting convened to discuss the arrangements being put in place in view of the ensuing festivities of Eid-ul-Azha.The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman, Waqaf Board, Mr. M.Y. Qadri, pisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Mr. Shalinder Kumar, , Inspector General of Police, A.G. Mir , Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr. F. A. Shah, Chief Engineers, PDD, R&B, Director CA&PD, DIG Traffic, RTO Srinagr, DGM, SRTC and senior officers of Animal, Sheep Husbandry and SMC.
Sagar also asked the Vice Chairman Waqaf Board to ensure all the facilities are put in place for the smooth offering of Nimaz at various places across the valley. He said that they should ensure that the timing of Nimaz and other related things are properly communicated.He directed the authorities of Srinagar Municipal Corporation to ensure sanitation and light arrangement facility in Srinagar city, especially around the mosques, shrines and other religious places. He instructed the Commissioner SMC to press additional men and machinery into service and ensure that proper disposal of garbage.Mr. Sagar on the spot gave instructions to Chief Engineer, PDD to streamline the power supply during the Eid days, so that the people do not face any in-convenience.
The Minister also directed the concerned authorities of CA&PD keep available rice, sugar, Atta, at ration depots besides buffer stocking of LPG and k. oil may also be ensured. He also asked for putting in place a mechanism, so that the people get an adequate supply of sacrificial animals and that too at an adequate price.The Minister also directed the RTO, Kashmir and the officers of SRTC Department to ensure that the traffic is ensured in the pision especially during the late and early hours. He also directed the traffic police to make the necessary arrangements for ensuring the smooth plying of vehicles during the festivals days.Mr. Sagar also asked the IGP Kashmir to ensure adequate security arrangements in and around the areas where large congregation of people offer their Eid Nimaz. He said a fool-proof mechanism should be put in place to avert any untoward incident.
