Emphasizing upon the need to create diverse employment opportunities, Deputy Chief Minister today called upon the corporate sector to come forward and absorb the skilled and unskilled youth of the state by organizing recruitment and placement drives.“The avenues of government jobs are limited hence youth must explore jobs in private sector for which government is offering skill development courses to help them get  training in market oriented trades”, Dr Nirmal Singh said after inaugurating a Recruitment rally organized by NISA global security agency at Billawar today.Dr Nirmal Singh said the present dispensation is very keen to capacitate youth of the state to make them useful human resources so that they can contribute in growth of the state.

The Deputy Chief Minister said efforts were made to call NISA global security agency to Billawar for the recruitment of local youth as security guards for their placement    in private organizations. He said recruitment rally by Army, BSF, CRPF and other paramilitary forces will be held in coming days to absorb eligible youths of the area adding that the rural youth are naturally fit   for belt forces. The Deputy Chief Minister said rural youth can explore earning opportunities by opening small ventures under handicrafts, handloom, fisheries, poultry and dairy for which government departments are offering many schemes. While speaking on the occasion, Vice President NISA Global Security Agency Lt Col (Retd) Ashok Singh Pathania said the agency is providing security services to private industries and institutions and recruit young youth for the job. He said agency has provided security guards to big house like Reliance, Castrol, Neelkamal, Cipla, Sun-Pharma, Blue Star, Tata, Kingfishers etc and offers good perks with PPF based on the qualification of 10th, 12th and Graduation. He said the agency will impart 21 day training to the recruited youth with boarding and lodging facilities. The rally received a massive response as over 1500 youth were registered during the daylong event.

Earlier, during his whirlwind tour of Billawar Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh convened series of public meetings at Dewal, Rest House, Dalliyan and Kohag to listen to the problems of the people.During the public meetings the local people projected issues of scarcity of drinking water, low voltage, monkey menace and demanded road connectivity and provision of veterinary hospital in the area.Responding to the demands, Dr Nirmal Singh said the provision for veterinary hospital will be considered and looked into. He directed officers present to redress the people’s problems on priority. He said concrete steps would be taken to address the problem of monkey menace.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the present dispensation is working for strengthening of developmental infrastructure in the hilly, kandi and remote areas to improve the living standard of the rural masses. He said Billawar tehsil has great potential of becoming a major tourist destination and every possible step would be taken to showcase it on the state’s tourist map.Rolling out the development plan for the area, he said new water schemes and road projects will be taken up very shortly. “ Dayala Chack- Challan road, 100 bed hospital, Pharmacy School, Juthana Bridge, KV School and establishment of Brigade Head quarter in Billawar are among the important projects which will be taken up in coming times to improve the socio-economic condition of Billawar people” he said.

He added that the efforts will be made to strengthen tourism infrastructure in the area by developing water sports, view points and other wayside amenities near Ranjit Sagar Dam to attract more tourist. He said such initiatives will boast economic activity in the area and provide employment to the locals. The DDC Kathua Ajay Singh Jamwal, SDM Billawar Rajeshwar Singh Charak, Tehsildar Billawar, BDO, District and Tehsil level officers, Panchs, Sarpanchs and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
