Deputy Commissioner Kulgam has called revenue officers to ensure prompt redressal of public grievances and resolution of land disputes on time.Chairing a meeting of Revenue officers here this morning, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on adopting proactive approach and proper use of magisterial powers to guard law and bringing transparency in the functioning of public offices operating within their jurisdiction.Stressing on activating field functionaries, the Deputy Commissioner called for taking action against encroachers of State/Kahcharaie land. He also directed for stopping land conversion, saying nobody should be allowed to convert prime agriculture land for construction or business purposes.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed on recovering revenue arrears, besides keeping proper account of fee collected on account of delivery of public services like demarcation fee, fee charged on issuance of category and PRC certificates.He said Tehsil Office is the backbone of government functioning and it is imperative that this office works with transparency and responsibility. He advised Tehsildars to conduct inspections within their jurisdiction to improve work culture and enforce punctuality.Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner Revenue attended the meeting.
