President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee G.A. Mir Sunday questioned Kashmir policy of Centre and State governments.Addressing one day political convention at Bandipora today Mir questioned the contradictory statement of the Centre and the State regarding current situation in Kashmir and their approach to deal with it. “Confusing signals are emanating because of the inherent ideological contradictions and fundamental differences in the approach of BJP-PDP coalition towards Kashmir issue,” he said.Referring to the statements of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Defence Minister as well as State Government on various fundamental issues with regard to Kashmir situation, the PCC Chief said, “Contradictions in the policies and approach of the coalition partners has sent wrong and confusing signals in Jammu and Kashmir.
Stating that dialogue and reconciliation is the way forward on all contentious issues in a democratic set up, Mir said, “Contradictions and confusions of coalition partners would only compound complex problem and further vitiate the atmosphere in the State. People of Kashmir feel betrayed enough by of PDP especially on the name of CMP, good governance, the so called CMP is actually a tool to mislead the people. But now PDP has lost the credibility and is losing the ground very fast in Kashmir.”He termed PDP’s CMP as its PBP (Personal Benefit Progamme) to come into power, this way or that way. He felt confident that PDP will have to pay heavy price for its “unfulfilled promises, wrong policies and indifferent attitude towards the people.”Referring to the recent attack on cellular towers in North Kashmir he said, “It will badly affect the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity in the State.”
While addressing the gathering former PCC president Peerzada Mohammad Syed launched a scathing attack on PDP and said, “PDP has miserably failed on all fronts. The promises made with the people like rehabilitation of flood affected people, employment packages proved a hoax.”Former Minister Taj Mohi U Din criticized the government for its behaviour towards employees of PHE and others departments. He strongly condemned the recent use of force on the employees who were protesting for their regularization.While addressing the gathering MLA Haji Abdul Rashid Dar and MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga urged the party cadres to remain intact the and fight for addressing people’s issues.
