A meeting was held under the chairmanship of P.K. Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, (SASB), to review and rationalize the number of Medical Camps to be set up in the Yatra area by the State Government, Army, CRPF, BSF, SSB, NGOs and others during the ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which is scheduled to commence on 2nd  July 2015.The meeting held detailed discussions regarding the specific location in the Yatra area of the Medical Camps to be set up by various agencies and decided that a total of 66 Medical Camps will be setup by the State Health Department, Army, Central Paramilitary Forces, JKP, NGOs, etc. The State Health Department shall set up 5 Base Hospitals at Baltal, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Panjtarni and the Holy Cave; 9 Medical Aid Centres at Domel, Brari Marg, Sangam Top, Frislan, Pissu Top, Zojibal, Nagakoti, MG-Top, Poshpatri, Railpatri; 14 Emergency Aid Centres between Chandanwari and Pissu Top, between Pissu Top and Zojibal, between Wavbal and Sheshnag towards Sheshnag, Wavbal Top, Kelnar, Dardkote, between Sangam Top and Holy Cave, near Lower Holy Cave, Railpatri, between Railpatri and Brari Marg, Langar site before Brari Marg, Y-Junction, Kali Mata Track, and Sangam Down. 

The Department will also provide health facilities at Neelgrath Helipad for the convenience of the Yatris.Department of Indian System of Medicines will be establishing 8 Medical Camps at Baltal, Brari Marg, Nunwan, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Panjtarni, Lower Holy Cave and two Mobile Camps which will move along with the Charri Mubarak.Army will establish 6 Medical camps at Domel, Brari Marg, Sangam Down, the Holy Cave, Sheshnag and Chandanwari; whereas BSF shall be establishing 10 Medical camps at Baltal, Chandanwari, Pissu Top, Sheshnag, Wavbal Top, MG Top, Poshpatri, Panjtarni, Sangam Top and the Holy Cave and 7 Medical Camps will be set up by CRPF at Baltal, Nunwan, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Poshpatri, Panjtarni and the Holy Cave.In addition to the above Camps, 1 Medical Camp will be set up by ITBP at Brari Marg, 2 Medical Camps by SSB at Railpatri and PissuTop and 1 Medical Camp by JK Police at Baltal. The Director Health Services Kashmir has also recommended establishment of 3 Medical Camps by different NGOs enroute Yatra Track.These Medical Camps are located at an average distance of 2km on the basis of actual conditions obtaining on the ground and keeping in view the availability of required infrastructure like water, shelter sheds, tents and sanitation facilities.

The meeting was informed that at the Base Camp Hospitals, the State Health Department shall provide Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers, Portable Oxygen Concentrators, Automated CPR machines, Defibrillators and Cardiac Monitors,  Portable X-Ray & Ultrasound Machines (Baltal and Chandanwari), ECG Machines etc; at the Medical Aid Centres portable Oxygen Cylinders, Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers, Diagnostic Kits, Pulse Oxymeter, Automated CPR Machines, Defibrillators and Cardiac Monitors, and Blood Sugar Kits; and at the Emergency Aid Centres, Medical & Surgical Kits, Portable Oxygen Cylinders, ECG Machines, BP Machine, Diagnostic Kits, Pulse Oxymeter, Blood Sugar kits etc. The State Health departments shall be providing adequate Medicines  at its Medical Camps.

The Security Forces shall be providing Medical equipments like Medical & Surgical First Aid kits; Portable Oxygen Cylinders, ECG Machines, Diagnostic Kits; Pulse Oxymeters, Glucometers etc. and provide adequate Medicines at the Medical Camps to be setup in the Yatra area.The CEO asked Director Health Services (Kashmir) to deploy Specialist Doctors at the Base Hospitals which are being setup at Baltal, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Panjtarni and Holy Cave and at each of the Medical Aid Centers.The meeting was attended by Shri M.K Bhandari, Secretary Health and Medical Education;  Dr. Jagat, IG, BSF, Kashmir, Shri Nalin Prabhat, IGP (Op) CRPF; Shri Atul Karwal, IG CRPF, Srinagar sector; Mr. Jitendra Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Executive Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board; Dr. Abdul Karim, Deputy Director Health Services Kashmir; Shri NG.P. Moyon, Commandant SHQ, SSB; Col. I.V.S Gahlot (Col. Medical), HQ 15 Corps; Lt. Col. Kulwinder Singh, 439 Field Hospitals; and Shri Parshotam Kumar, Dy.CEO, SASB.
