There was a reason to smile for the people of Dadasara hamlet of Tral town in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday as two native girl students both from Hajahad Public School Awantipora secured 1st and 2nd position in the class 10th examination for which the Board of School Education declared the results on Tuesday morning.Anika Shabir, daughter of Shabir Ahmad Rather under Roll Number 6140212 secured the first the position with with 494 marks while her neighbor, Shaheera Shamim, and the student of the same school under Roll Number 640211  shared the second position with other three students with 491 marks.

Anika Shabir was too candid to admit that she is the daughter of a daily-wager. “Both my father and mother are daily-rated workers. My father Shabir Ahmed is a temporary employee in Jammu Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) while my mother daily-rated worker in health department. I thank my parents and my all teachers for the support and affection. All have provided ample confidence and motivation and placed belief in me to top in the examination,” Anika Shabir told CNS.I am fortunate enough to get my education in a school where all the teachers are dedicated and intelligent. My Principal, my teachers and my parents has been a constant encouragement and has always believed in my ability. I will not give credit to a particular teacher but it was their joint effort to bring out best in me and other students,” she said.

Anika Shabir said that she wants to become a Professor. “I don’t want to become a doctor, engineer or an administrative officer. It’s my aim to teach students and I will Inshallah become a Professor in near future,” Anika said adding she preferred to study during morning hours and never opened a book after 12 at night.Farida Akhtar, the mother of Anika Shabir while thanking Almighty Allah for her daughter’s success said that her daughter is fond of framing time tables. “Once she frames a time table for study purpose, she follows it in letter and spirit,” she said. The proud father of Anika, Shabir Ahmed Rather told CNS that her daughter has got talent. “I personally do believe that nobody except Allah can stop her. She has topped in every class and I am sure she will achieve her objective,” he said.

Shaheera Shamim, the second position holder and the friend of Anika Shbir was also all praise for her school teachers and parents. “My father is a lecturer and he is my role model. I worked hard and it bore fruit. I had more clarity of all the subjects; I was more thorough and had a better understanding of the concepts,” Shaheera Shamim told CNS.When contacted, Principal Hajahad Public School Awantipora, Imtiyaz Ahmed told CNS that he is on cloud nine. “I am feeling like floating in air. We have 50 teachers in our school and private tuition is banned here. It was the dream of my father who retired as Transport Commissioner to establish a school, that will discourage teacher to take private tuition's and will give best to the students in their classrooms,” Imtiyaz Ahmed said and added that school’s name ‘Hajahad’ has been derived from the name of her parents where Haj stands for his mother’s name Hajrah and Ahad stands for the name of his father Abdul Ahad.Meanwhile, Dadsara native Muhammad Amin Naik who has been serving as Major General in Indian Army in New Delhi congratulated both the students on their success. “I am proud of these little girls and I have been repeatedly telling my friends that I am the native of Dadasara Tral,” Wani the son of former Divisional Commissioner Kashmir told CNS on phone from New Delhi.
