Chandigarh Management Association (CMA) organized an interactive talk on “Integrated Development of Tricity” today at Phd Chamber. Mr. Vivek Atray, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula was the Chief Guest and key speaker on the occasion. Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, CMA & Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges presided over the event.Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Atray said that Chandigarh along with its satellite townships Panchkula and Mohali possessed all the features to be a smart Tricity. However, concerted and combined efforts are required by all the institutions engaged in the governance and planning of the tricity to step ahead to meet today’s concept of smart city as envisaged by the city planner.
Atray further said that Chandigarh and its adjoining cities are very much interlinked for citizens mobility, education, water and energy needs and health care to provide superior living conditions to senior citizens, security to women and crises management.Dr. Anshu Kataria in his presidential remarks said that CMA has organized a series of panel discussions on “Making Chandigarh a Smart City” and the present talk on integrated development of tricity is an extension of views expressed by the experts. “Common citizens have to upgrade their skill sets and do their bits to develop make tricity a smart region”, added Kataria.
Charanjit Singh, past president of CMA said that Chandigarh, as standalone city is not a big commercial hub until its economic activities and enlargements of the markets are integrated with satellite towns of Mohali and Panchkula, which is specific need for the region.After the lecture, a Questions/Answers round was also held. Mr. J.N. Vohra was the moderator on the occasion while Dr. Kataria extended Vote of Thanks to Mr. Atray at the end of the talk. It is to be mentioned that Mr. A.K. Gandhi, Immediate Past President, CMA; Mr. Jagtaran Singh Nayyar, Vice President, CMA; Mr. T. S. Chhabra, Secretary, CMA etc. were also present on the occasion.
