To streamline the public dealing, the Punjab Government has directed to all the officers of Transport Department, PRTC and Punjab Roadways to work with honesty, cooperation and utmost sincerity to achieve the fixed target and warned that the concerned officers would be held responsible for the delay in public works. Presiding over a high level meeting with the District Transport Officers (DTOs) and State Transport Authorities (STAs),  Ajit Singh Kohar, Transport Minister emphasized to rationalize the functioning of Department and asked them to work with zeal and dedication to meet the fixed target for collection of revenue. He informed that Punjab Government had already fixed the period for the registration of vehicles, issuing of fitness certificate to the commercial vehicles, driving license of motor car/motor cycle, issuing tax clearance certificate, issuing of rout permit of National permit and transfer of vehicles under the Right to Service Act. "Whosoever delays or defaults in his duty will face the music", he warned.Prominent among others  Ranjit Singh Balian Chairman PRTC,  Mandeep Singh Secretary Transport,  Harmel Singh officiating STC, all the GMs of Punjab Roadways and PRTC and DTOs of all districts were present in the meeting.
