The Punjab Governor, Kaptan Singh Solanki today administered the oath of office to Mr. Yashvir Mahajan, IAS (Retd.) and Mr. Nidharak Singh Brar as State Information Commissioners in a brief but impressive ceremony held in the Banquet Hall of Punjab Raj Bhavan.
Earlier, the Chief Secretary, Mr. Sarvesh Kaushal sought the permission of the Governor to start the swearing in ceremony. Meanwhile, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, Rural Development Minister Mr. Sikandar Singh Maluka, Chief Information Commissioner, Mr. S.S.Channy ,Principal Secretary to Governor, Mr. M.P. Singh , Mr. HPS Mann, Mr. Surinder Awasthi both Information Commissioners, former Union Minister, Mr. Balwant Singh Ramuwalia, former Akali Minster Mr. Nusrat Ikram Bagge Khan, Mr. Joginder Pal Jain, MLA and Mr. Charanjit Singh Brar, OSD to Deputy Chief Minister also graced the occasion. Several senior civil and police officers were also present on the occasion. Family members, friends and well wishers of both the newly appointed Information Commissioners were also present on the occasion.
