MLA Langate Er. Rashid accompanied by hundreds of youth held a forceful demonstration against the recruitment policy draft6ed by the PDP-BJP Government. The protest march began from Sher-e-Kashmir Park and culminated at Press Colony. Engineer Rashid lead a delegation to present memorandum to Divisional Commissioner on the lacunas of the recruitment policy.
Pertinently, the protesters were raising forceful slogans like –Recruitment Policy Na Manzoor (We reject Recruitment Policy), Daily wage namanzoor (we reject daily wage culture), Mufti Sahan hoosh may awoo, Drabu sahib hooosh may awoo (Wake up from slumber Mr Chief Minister and Finance Minister), VIP Culture Namanzoor (Down with VIP Culture). While speaking on the occasion, MLA Langate Engineer Rashid stated – “ This recruitment policy will destroy the system as it is an effort to kill competency at the cost of Contractualism and Daily wage culture. What can a youth do with meager pay for seven years is a big question, why not Ministers, MLAs and Bureaucrats work on half pay instead of asking our youth to work on Half pay. This ill drafted recruitment policy will only lead to hopelessness, frustration and increase in corruption.” All this is aimed to keep the state at the mercy of selfish politicians and badly exploit the youth.”
Engineer Rashid questioned the double speak of the state Government over the issue. “After feeling public pressure Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu called the latest recruitment policy as temporary feature, while as Naeen Akthar Education Minister calls it a permanent feature.”Er. Rashid reaffirmed that this recruitment policy will bring already weak development to grinding halt as it will lead to increase in dangerous trend of Brain Drain. On the occasion, Several agitated youth also spoke on the occasion and expressed their strong resentment against the recruitment policy.
