More Than 2100 Unemployed Youth Get Employment In Job Fair

More than 2100 youth from in and around Ludhiana district got appointment letters in the Employment Fair organised by the District Administration at Government High School, Mundian Kalan, here today. These youth have secured employment in 30 different companies. The Employment Fair was inaugurated by Punjab Irrigation Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, here today. A total of a whopping more than 6000 youth had registered at the Employment Fair, which was organised with the assistance of Chamber of Commercial Industrial Undertakings.This was the third Employment Fair organised by the District Administration in Ludhiana district.

Deputy Commissioner Mr Rajat Agarwal informed that the first such fair was organised in Jagraon in the month of February last year, the second one was organised at CICU office in June last year and the third one was organised at Government High School, Mundian Kalan, here today. He said that to make this fair successful, the District Administration was working hard for the last two months and the selected youth were handed over appointment letters on the spot.The companies which hired the youth today included New Swan Group of Companies, Nicks India Tools, Kay Jay Forgings Pvt Ltd, Bhogal Sons, Moonlight Auto (P) Ltd, Dish TV India, Kochar Infotech Pvt Ltd, Kapoor Steels Enterprises, Sportking India Ltd, AB Steel Works, Appu International, Indiana Machine Tools, Ralson (India) Ltd, Singhania International Ltd, Mehta Engineers Ltd, Precision Industrial Fasteners, Highway Industries Ltd, BB Industries, Superfine Knitters Ltd, Falcon Garden Tools (P) Ltd, Amar Wheels Pvt Ltd, Yerik International, Sudhir Forgings (P) Ltd, The Bombay Metal Works Private Ltd, Kangaroo Industries, besides several others.

While speaking to media persons after inaugurating the Employment Fair, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that Punjab government is committed to provide employment to all unemployed youth of the state. He said that this job fair has been successful as thousands of youth got themselves registered today. He assured that such Employment Fairs would be organised on regular basis and those youth, who have not been selected today, would be reconsidered by the companies in case there is further demand. He said that today was his birthday and providing employment to thousands of youth is the best way to celebrate it.Mr Dhillon distributed appointment letters to more than 2100 youth and urged them to work hard in life. He said that the main purpose of this Employment Fair was to stop brain drain. He said that today’s youth is shifting to western countries in search of jobs. He said that the Punjab government is committed to provide jobs to all unemployed youth in their home country as well.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included former minister Mr Ishar Singh Meharban,ADC (D) Mr. Supreet Singh Gulati, Zila Parishad Chairman Mr Bhag Singh Maangarh, SDM (East) Mr Paramjit Singh, national general secretary of Youth Akali Dal Mr Simranjeet Singh Dhillon, District Employment Officer Mr Lakshya Gupta, CICU President Mr Avtar Singh, general secretary CICU Mr Upkar Singh, OSD to Irrigation Minister Mr Sehajpreet Singh Mangat, Kakowal village sarpanch Mr Maninder Singh Natt besides several others.
