Gobind Singh Longowal takes oath as M.L.A.

Gobind Singh Longowal who was recently elected MLA from Dhuri in a by-election by margin of 37,501 votes today took oath.Dr. Charanjit Singh Atwal, Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha, administrated him oath of office in a simple ceremony organised in Punjab Vidhan Sabha.Immediately after oath Dr. Atwal congratulated Mr. Longowal. After taking oath, Mr. Longowal said that he would try his level best to come up to the expectations of Chief Minister, S. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who have entrusted him a great responsibility and he would also leave no stone unturned for the development of Dhuri.With election of Mr. Longowal now, SAD (B) has 59 M.L.A.’s in the 117 member assembly while, BJP has 12, Congress has 43 besides 3 independent M.L.A.’s.On this occasion besides Mr. S.S. Dhindsa, Ex Union Minister, Mrs. Amar Pal Kaur wife of Mr Longowal, Ms Gurman Kaur daughter of Mr. Longowal, others Family members, friends, relatives and prominent leaders, party workers from Dhuri were also present.
