As a step forward towards creation of database of all residents in the district, the process for creation of NPR was launched in the district by District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Mrs. Yasha Mudgal, during a meeting of all the concerned officers associated with the job. The Director Census Operations J&K also attended the meeting along with his training officers. The Director Census Operations highlighted the importance of NPR and sought co-operation from all the concerned officers for its successful completion.The District Development Commissioner Udhampur intimated in the meeting that Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur has been nominated as Nodal Officer and the process for creation of NPR will be supervised by Mr. Ravindra Kumar, IAS Probationer and the entire progress will be monitored by the District Development Commissioner Udhampur personally on regular basis.
The DDC impressed upon all Revenue, Executive Officers of Municipal Councils and all other District officers to make all sincere efforts for creation of the database for completion of NPR in their respective areas as per time schedule fixed for each enumeration block by the Director Census Operations J&K so that the task is completed within the stipulated time.It was also impressed upon the concerned officers to provide logistic support to the staff deputed by the Director Census Operations J&K for collection of database and creation of NPR.The District Development Commissioner Udhampur issued instructions to all the Charge Officers to make wide publicity of NPR through drum beating and also make active involvement of Chowkidars, Namardars, Panches, Sarpanches and Anganwari workers for mobilizing the general public of their respective areas to personally attend their respective Bio Metric Centres for their enrolment including capturing of the Bio Metrics [Photographs/ Fingerprints/ Iris].The DDC also appealed to the general public for their active participation in their respective Bio Metric Centres so that after completion of job, the benefits of different Govt. schemes are percolated to them.
