The Punjab Revenue & Public Relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia today said that Sangrur rally organised by Rahul Gandhi, following the lines of his ancestors to further ruin the federal values of the country turned out to be a mockery show of ‘rotational headship’ introduced in the Congress party, to keep the dwindling flock of disgruntled ‘leaders’ together. He said that by ignoring the elected representatives on the foundation stone laying ceremony PGI’s Satellite Cancer Treatment Centre being set up on 25 acres of land provided by the Punjab government, the immature Rahul shouldn’t dreamt to lead nation as he has no respect for democratic values. He pointed out that Rahul has a proven record that wherever he campaigns during elections, the people had shown the door to anti-people Congress party and Bihar, UP and Gujarat were the best examples.
Interacting with media persons, Mr. Majithia pointed out that poor response of people during rally has shown Congress leaders the writing on wall in coming general elections. He said that Rahul’s respect towards his “guru”, the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had already witnessed by the people of country during stage managed show on ordinance issue. He said that after tossing up the turban of PM, Rahul was now trying to control the damage by showering praises on him at the soil of Punjab but should keep in mind the people of Punjab would never pardon him for his that most condemnable act.He said that despite various compromise formulas and changing nomenclature of various posts in Congress as Acting President, Working President, Campaign Manager, Party Leader being coined by the Congress high command to keep the warring leaders of Punjab congress together, the pitiable situation didn’t improved even during photo ops of ‘ solidarity show’ during rally. He said that Amarinder-Bajwa’s strong disliking towards each other was at its best and how can such leaders who were not even united before their party high command that too in a public function can make concerted efforts collectively for the welfare of Punjabis.Mr. Majithia said that on one side Rahul praised Punjab farmers , but can he list a single farmer friendly gesture of Congress led UPA has done in last 10 yrs except keeping them out of benefit ambit of any central scheme whether Rs. 70000 crore debt waiver/ non remunerative MSP/ total ignorance of border area farmers/unprecedented inflation in agri-inputs. By talking of Gujarat farmers plight, who were suffering due to an act enacted by Congress government of Gujarat in 70s, Rahul was shedding crocodile tears, he added.
Describing the Punjab Youth Congress “adhikar yatra” as the antim yatra of Congress led UPA, Mr. Majithia further said that 8 Congress MPs from Punjab deserve “ Silence” award as by remaining silent in Parliament they served their masters with ‘exemplary obedience’ but betrayed the trust of the voters of their respective constituencies. He dared them to get ready for most humiliating defeats of their political career in ensuing Parliamentary elections. He quipped that Congress MPs area of operation was limited to ‘Shambu barrier’ and these were only the ‘statement release’ leaders not attached to public or ground realities.Mr. Majithia said that the Congress led UPA government was solely responsible for drug trafficking in the state as despite the total control of international border with central agencies and Border security Force, it was miserably failed to check the flow of heroin from Afghanistan via Pakistan. He said the as per the directions of Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, the state police has launched a focused drive against the drug trafficking and results in huge recovery of high-grade drugs like heroin that has touched 278.536 kgs till date.
Mr. Majithia further said that it was high time for people of state to play proactive role in installing NDA government to provide decisive leadership determined to bail nation out of present mess of economic disaster and internal as well as external challenges.Earlier, Mr. Majithia paid obeisance at Ramayana Path being held in Kitchlu Nagar by Bhagat Hans Raj ji Gohane Wale and Sh. Krishan Vij. Mr. Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Hira Singh Gabria and Mr. Parveen Chaudhary were also present on this occasion.
