The Punjab Revenue, Public Relations Minister and Youth Akali Dal President  Bikram Singh Majithia today slammed the Congress led UPA Government pointing out that the prices of petrol had never been hiked in such a steep way and warned the Union Government that the Youth Akali Dal would not sit silently against such anti-people decisions.  Majithia said that the Youth Akali Dal would launch district level protests against this painful decision across the state within two-three days and if the Union Government did not roll back the price hike, the YAD would register a massive protest at Delhi. Terming the decision of UPA Government a mischievous act,  Majithia said that the increase of Rs. 7.50 per liter would be a new burden on the common man, who was already reeling under the unprecedented inflation. He said that instead of taking steps to decrease the inflation to provide a sigh of relief to common man, the Congress led UPA Government crushed the back bone aam aadmi. He also called it mismanagement of Union Government as the prices of crude in international market were going down.  Majithia said that on one side the Chairperson of UPA  Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh was producing the report card of UPA government while on another front they were imposing such a bigger burden on the people by allowing such a sharpest hike in petrol prices. Demanding immediate roll back of hike in petrol price,  Majithia said that when the Congress led UPA started its second inning the prices of petrol were around Rs 40.62 and Rs. 30.86 of diesel while now the prices has gone nearly doubled besides the sky rocketing prices of essential commodities. He said that it was tough for common people to survive under such a high inflation.  Majithia said that if this anti-people decision would not be withdrawn by Union Government without any delay, the YAD would be forced to launch state wide protest besides a massive protest at Delhi.
