Vigilance Nabs DM Markfed In Bribery Case

State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed Markfed District Manager Ludhiana K.T.S Dhaliwal red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 1,00,000. Disclosing this here today, Mr. Sursh Arora, Chief Director-cum-DGP Vigilance Bureau Punjab said that Bureau has caught K.T.S Dhaliwal Markfed DM posted at Ludhiana demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 1,00,000 from complainant Jaswant Singh Markfed Branch Manager Jagroan for allowing to return 1.50 lac gunny bags to the traders. He added that the complainant approached the Bureau and alleged that Markfed DM was demanding Rs. three lakhs as a bribe from him for the above said purpose. After finding the veracity of facts a vigilance team led by Mr Sandip Goyal, SP EOW, Vigilance Bureau Ludhiana laid a trap and the accused was nabbed red handed accepting first instalment of Rs. one lakh in the presence of two government officials as witnesses. The tainted money was recovered from him. In this regard a vigilance case under u/s 7, 13 (1) read with 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Ludhiana and further investigation was under progress.
