Chandigarh , 25 Dec 2014

Information was received by Delhi Zonal Office of Narcotics Control Bureau about a Rave Party which was planned to be held in the area of District Gurgaon on 00:00 HRS on 25.12.2014 which was supposed to go on till 0600 Hrs.This information was shared by Sh Rohit Sharma, Zonal Director, NCB Delhi with Sh Navdeep Singh Virk, Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon and it was decided to conduct a joint raid and investigation into the matter, after the preliminary verification of the information was conducted.A joint raiding team was formed of Gurgaon Police and NCB officials. A team comprising three Inspectors and about 35 other police officials including lady police officers of Gurgaon police and Intelligence Officers of NCB was constituted to carry out the joint operation under an Assistant Commissioner of Police of Gurgaon. The rave party organiser had taken several precautions to alert the invitees in case of a police operation, which were renderred ineffective by the operational planning of Gurgaon Police.

After the raid, 40 boys and 4 girls have been detained. Narcotic substances have been found in possession of several of them. The narcotic substances recovered include L.S.D, Crystal Methamphetamine, Charas, Hashish, Ganja and Cocaine. The persons detained are mostly youngsters in the age group of 20-26 years who are either students, BPO executives or work in event management companies etc and mostly from Delhi. One of them is reported to be a Swiss National around 46 years of age. The operation started in the early hours of 25.12.2014 and went on for a few hours.  The location of the Rave Party was Tiwari Farm House in Village Bisar. The role of the farm house owner is being investigated.

Early investigations reveal that the invite for this Rave party was circulated on FaceBook and WhatsApp, and some of them may not have even directly known the event organisers. The event organisers were charging an entry fee of Rs 1000 each and were also selling narcotics to those who wanted to use them. Liquor was also being served in the party without any excise permit. The role of event organiser is being investigated deeply both by the local police as well as by NCB. Sources also revealed that around 10-12 such parties were earlier organised by the same event manager. One of the inpiduals detained by the police could be a  member of the event organisers. Blood samples of all those found present in the party are being taken for conducting scientific investigation in the matter. After initial investigations, several of them would be arrested based on the evidence available.Since the jurisdiction was later found to be in the area of Village Bisar under Police Station Tauru, the whole matter is being investigated by Mewat Police now.Sh Navdeep Singh Virk, Commissioner of Police has cautioned students and youngsters to avoid invitation to such rave parties as they could land into serious trouble and spoil their careers. He also advised the parents to keep a watch on the activities of their wards.
