The central government has taken all steps to secure India's porous borders and contain infiltration, Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh said here Saturday."All steps needed to secure our borders to prevent its porosity have been and will be taken by the government. There are people well versed with porosity and we are doing the best we can," he said on the sidelines of a programme organised by defence PSU Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers here."We cannot offer to let our guard down", he said.

Asked about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, he said the state has a fully secure wired border as the government has fenced it thoroughly."Unfortunately, if there is an intention for people to get from one side to the other, then they always devise means... whether it's through underground tunnels or they can cross the fence... people devise means," he said.
