S.K. Roongta, Chairman, Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd called on Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, here today and assured that work on the construction of Talwandi Sabo Thermal Plant project was going ahead on full stream and they would commission this plant on schedule i.e November 30, 2012. Roongta, along with his team of directors assured the Deputy Chief Minister that he was personally monitoring the construction of this project and having weekly meetings with the contractors and sub-contractor parties at the highest level with the sole aim of sticking to his promise to commission this project by the scheduled date. He said that he was micro-analyzing the situation to ensure that all milestones laid out for every section were met and there was no delay in any section. He said that he was also having constant liaison with Union Coal Ministry and Prime Minister Office to ensure that Fuel Supply Agreement, with Coal India Ltd was signed much before the scheduled date of opening. Offering full support of Punjab Government to project executing company, Badal said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had already written to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for expediting the signing of Fuel Supply Agreement with the Talwandi Sabo and Rajpura Thermal PlantHe said that, if required, he and Chief Minister would personally meet Prime Minister and Union Coal Minister in this regard. He said that Punjab Government would fully support the company and now it was the duty of the company to complete the project on schedule.
