The Huriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Sunday hailed people of Srinagar for boycotting 4th phase of polls, saying development carries least importance in ‘occupation’.Talking to KNS he said people of Srinagar deserve kudos for ‘boycotting the sham’ elections and that the slogans of development are unimportant when forces rule the roost in any region.Geelani said that the main objective for the people must be to strive for their birth right and that the voting plays the vital role in undermining and deviating the attention of any nation from their main objective. “People must be appreciated for boycotting the elections. Polls in no way are going to resolve the issues of people. Only faces change and nothing else on ground. We have to remember that our main objective is freedom from the occupation,” Geelani told KNS.
