Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Tuesday welcomed the speech of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appealed people to vote for the party to get rid of the Family Raaj prevalent in Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement here the BJP spokesman Khaild Jehangir said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds Jammu and Kashmir close to his heart and if BJP is voted to power in the state it would get rid of corruption and would take all the people to task who have taken people for a ride during the past 60-years.”Taking a dig at National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jehangir said, “These two parties have always tried their best to keep people away from centre and vice-versa. Prime Minister showing keen interest in Kashmir affairs and making all the possible efforts to end the alienation has unnerved both the regional parties.”

He said that both these parties during all these years have ensured that common people don’t come closer to Delhi so that they take full advantage of it.“Prime Minister paying due attention to Jammu and Kashmir has made the local politicians feel insecure and they have started believing that changed policy of the Modi government can turn them irrelevant. The Modi led government has shifted its focus from a few politicians towards the people of JK who have been ignored by the successive regimes during the past six decades,” Jehangir added.
