Whereas at various places, voters were seen queuing outside polling booths. However polling booths in Sopore and Baramulla towns, a low voting turnover was witnessed as Hurriyat Conference asked people for poll boycott. Sensitive areas like sopore, Palhallan and Baramulla were showing cold response to the voting. Amid huge security in Baramulla youth resorted to stone pelting on polling booth in old town baramulla which has affected the poll turn over. Meanwhile a Petrol bomb was hurled at Khypora Tangmarg, however no one was reproted injured. As known sopore town of sopore constituency is known for sepratist ideology being home town of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Chairman Hurriyat conference.  Polling was going on in pulwama, Budgam and Baramulla constituencies where mixed response for voting and bycotte call was witnesed. Heavy security arrangements were made in polling stations located in sopore main town.
