Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Wednesday distributed relief cheques worth Rs five lakh and kits containing essential commodities among 50 more  flood affected families.“In the phase 11th of cash distribution to the flood victims, Geelani  gave away cheque for Rs 10000 and a relief kit to each of the more 50 flood affected families,” a spokesman of Hurriyat (G) said in a statement. In his brief address Geelani paid his gratitude for all sections including doctors, businessmen, fruit growers and state employees for their generous contribution towards account meant for flood victims and in his passionate appeal to all sections of society sought their support for rehabilitation of flood affected people. “It is our duty to reach every flood affected family and extend our support and provide every possible help,” said Geelani.

Referring to present political scenario in state he said, “Our plight is still unresolved and it was for about hundred years that Jammu And Kashmir reeled under the dark rule of Dogras .Though through a partition plan   more than 600 hundred small and big states were allowed to decide about their political destiny and India with its military might while overlooking all human, moral and constitutional values, forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir.”“It is extremely sad that while all other small and big princely states were declared sovereign states but we were made slaves for none of the reason,” said Geelani. “Under an agreed plan and agreement and keeping in view the population graph, topography of our state, adjoining  borders with neighboring country and Muslim identity, Kashmir supposed to accede with Pakistan. It is because the leaders and people we trusted deceived us and betrayed with the blood of martyrs .The people who presented their precious sacrifices were not respected, instead led us to nowhere and made us slaves. We presented immense and cherished sacrifices but still some people fail to understand the real motive behind these sacrifices.”

Referring to elections, Geelani said, “We are being killed, properties looted and torched and it was time to retrospect about whether to extend our vote and support or refrain from all this futile processes.”Ridiculing the claims of a section of people who justify for their participations in these elections, he said, “Today some people justify their claim that it is vote for development and change. It is lame excuse. Development and change of hands ate two different things and our objectives are clear and we strive for a cause and we will achieve freedom from occupant forces. Development though necessary, but we assign top priority to our freedom struggle and all development work can be taken in hand but after achieving our goal.”

He maintained that keeping in view principal aim “we should boycott all elections. It is highly regretful that recent floods caused a massive devastation and despite all this elections were thrust on us .They created a hysteria like situation and agencies bribed with their money power and several opportunists jumped into election fray. pide and rule has become the order of the day, situation is confused and India is exploiting the electorate for the justification of its occupation.”“I am all praise for the wisdom of my people and no doubt they are with all their spirits with freedom movement but a single mistake of their make all the show a failure, and hence invite miseries. We are obliged to follow and we are committed with movement and hence we will continue our mission and added we feel our duty to warn our people against the sinister designs of India. It is your vote that justifies occupation, so we appeal you to boycott election processes on December 2,” he added.
