Senior National Conference leader and Minister for Higher Education Mohammad Akbar Lone Friday said that Sonawari assembly constituency witnessed massive development during last six years.Addressing election rallies in different areas of Sonawari he said, “I have ensured that all the areas of Sonawari are developed and it is upto the people to decide what I have done in the last six year. The areas got a state of the art degree College in Sumbal which can compete with the best ones in J&K. The second degree college was established in Hajin area.”“Administrative units which include SDM Office at Sumbal, Tehsil Office at Hajin Development Blocks and Nayabats and upgradation of healthcare units is for everyone to see,” he added.The Minister said that upgradation of schools, establishment of new schools, road connectivity along with bridges and providing potable water to people was his priority during last six years.

My dream of establishing an Industrial Estate in Sonawari and a subsidiary of Entrepreneurial Development Institute will be fulfilled in next six years. Development of Manasbal as tourist destination of international importance is my dream,” Lone added.
The NC leader lashed out at those opportunist politicians who he said were misleading people by making false promises. “You people should remain cautious of those opportunist politicians who have launched propaganda. Like the past they will be defeated by the voters this time also,” he said.Lone said that people will give decisive mandate to National Conference in the upcoming elections so that it can continue the development process started six years back in the state.
“I am hopeful that people will give a decisive mandate in favour of National Conference so that the developmental process started during Omar sahib’s regime continues,” he said.Lone also assured the educated youth that they will always remain as priority for the NC. “In the last six years thousands of educated youth were provided employment. But I agree more needs to be done on this front. I assure you that youth is the prime focus of NC and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah,” he added.
