Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Sunday distributed relief cheques worth Rs five lakh and kits containing essential commodities among 50 flood affected families of district of Pulwama and Budgam.Restarting cash distribution to the affected families Geelani gave away cheque worth Rs ten thousands and a kit to each of the more 50 families of district Budgam and Pulwama, a statement of Hurriyat (G) said. While sharing his sympathy with the affected families Geelani said, “Today we have completed the 8th phase of our relief work and we feel highly thankful for those who in their endure took pains and deposited cash, kind, bedding, food items, clothing and enabled us to help flood affected families. It is noble and pine mission for all of us and we seek blessings from Almighty Allah for these noble souls who joined with us in this noble mission.”

He said that during recent devastating floods whole state was badly affected and properties and other assets worth millions were either lost or damaged in recent flood fury. “The elderly, children and ailing are living a miserable life in these chilling and cool nights of winter,”.

He in his passionate appeal to state employees insisted to deposit their one day salary and also appealed business community from those areas which were not hit in recent floods, fruit dealers, transporters and people dealing with sports industry to show their generosity and deposit their donations in bank account of Syed Ali Geelani vide A/C 0385010100001231..J&K bank Hyderpora or personally deposit at central   relief committee against receipt.

Taking serious note of pitiable plight of flood affected people, Geelani said, “They deserve our help, sympathy and care. It was a catastrophe and almost whole state was devastated in deluge but it is highly regretful   that instead of taking steps for rehabilitation or improvement, state authorities and pro-Indian political parties jumped into election fray. Keeping in view the devastation created by floods they could have stayed away from this election drama and instead Election Commission of India acted fast and made an announcement for farce elections.”

“Allah is sustainer and to him we should surrender. I appeal people for poll boycott of upcoming elections and asked that they in no case should forget suppressive policy of India against people of Kashmir. There is only one way to do away this slavery and state of terror that we should resist every such move that suppresses our ambitions and aspirations and warned people  against  deceptive policies and ways they lure people for their political ends,” the Hurriyat (G) chairman said.Strongly criticizing the arrest of Mohammad Ayoob Khan ex Tehsil President Chiwa Pulwama, Tehreek e Hurriyat in its statement said, “He is under treatment for phsycatric ailment and keeping in view his critical condition he was relieved from all responsibilities and instead all this he was arrested and shifted to Mattan sub Jail .Stressing early release of its ailing leader Mir Hafiz Ullah Tehreek e Hurriyat demanded his immediate release.”
