Punjab looks at filling all the vacant posts of teachers in schools and colleges soon. There are more than 2000 such posts lying vacant. Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance Minister Punjab said this while talking to media at the Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landranwhile presiding in Parivartan 2K14 a Techno Cultural Fest where participation from all across the country is there. This he said would certainly boost the standards of education in the state. The computer labs and other infrastructure in schools is being properly looked after so that results could be seen in near future. A Board for Technical Education and Skills is being set up and this aims at producing more than 3 lakh skilled youth in coming years. Under this all IITs, Polytechnics and Engineering institutions will contribute.  The research budget has also been increased from 180 cr to 310 cr he said. 

The state today looks forward to establishment of medi city, edu city and IT city in Mullanpur and Mohali respectively. Medical tourism is a major area of finance today and Punjab looks forward to playing its positive role in its development. With an international airport developing soon the medical tourism in state will get a boost. More than 2,000 acres of land is being acquired near Mullanpur soon.  A Board for Developing Shivalik Hills will soon take form and help enhance tourism, he added. All districts of Punjab will soon be covered under Garbage Management system which will be run with Private Public partnership. In this garbage recycling is also being done. Four laning of all the national highways is a major project being undertaken and would soon be complete for public welfare, he added. 

Irrigation projects worth more than Rs 1,000 cr have been approved in collaboration with NABARD in the Kotla sector. Punjab today is giving 65 per cent of the revenue in salaries that being a need based expenditure, he said. It should not go beyond 50 per cent ideally, he exhorted. Citing grants from centre he said that Punjab is very hopeful and has a positive response from Modi Sarkar that looks at progress. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC while distributing the prizes to winners said that the youth of today will certainly show the desired outcome in near future. The Parivartan platform gives them a chance to showcase their talent in extra curriculur activities which forms an important part of our life.Dr. Vikas Singh Camus Director CGC appealed to the students to work on the theme of a “Clean India Green India. International fame rock band Underground Authority gave foot tapping moments to the young crowd. Their music & songs one rich apalos.
