After four days of firing incident in Chatragham village of Central Kashmir's Budgam district, Army on friday accepted the responsibility of killings and terms it a "mistaken identity". The firing incident follows the killing of two youths and injuring two others earlier this week.Lt. General D.S Hooda, the Northern Army Commander said that there was some information about a white car with terrorists. Obviously, the identity was mistaken in this case. We take responsibility for the death.
Meanwhile, Hooda has promised fast tract and transparent inquiry into this matter.Meanwhile, reports suggestes that final investigation will be done in next ten days. Meanwhile, 15 civilian witnesses and service witnesses have been examined.In a meantime, Defence Minstry has approved ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakhs for families of deceased and Rs 5 lakhs for injured,” Hooda added.
