Rain and snow lashes Kashmir valley

As predicted by the MET department, medium to heavy rains have lashed the plains, while higher reaches of Kashmir valley have recorded another snowfall since last night that still continues.Higher altitudes of Sonamarg, Gulmarg and other places including Zojila Top are receiving heavy snowfall which in turn has made vehicular movement suspended on Srinagar-Leh national highway on both sides of Zojila. Fall in temperatute made people to use electronic and traditional heating gadgets.

"This fall in temprature provide dealers a chance to give a price hike in in heating gadgets which badly effects life of a common man," said Bashir Ahmad a local from Rainawari."People most of the times lit wood on roadsides to provide warmth to their bodies as this cold breeze and low temprature hardly allows a person to move or stay oit of their houses for so long," Another Local Mohammad Iqbal told 5 Dariya.MET department has already warned heavy rains and snow for two days which may affect road and air traffic.
