Paying rich tributes to the 1947 martyrs of Jammu massacred by religious extremist zealots in Jammu, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that the memories of massacre and genocide of Muslims in Jammu in 1947 would continue to haunt our history for the ages to come.This was stated by the Mirwaiz on the martyrdom anniversary of the Jammu Muslims which falls on November 6 Mirwaiz, who continues to be under house arrest from past two days, said that sacrifices of Jammu martyrs were an important asset of the freedom struggle, adding, their sacrifices have a historical significance as far as the freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir is concerned.

The Hurriyat (M) chairman said that the hearts of the people of Jammu and Kashmir beat together and their interests are inter-related and inter connected, a fact which can’t be overlooked. Appreciating people of Kashmir for observing complete shutdown to protest the killing of two youth by the Indian armed forces at Chattergam, Distt Budgam, Mirwaiz asked the Khateebs, Imams, and Moulvis to organize protests and raise their voice against the injustices committed by Indian troops on coming Friday, November 7 at their respective Masjids, Shrines and Imambarahs He also appealed lawyers, respectable and other civil society members to raise their voice in protest against the bloodshed in Kashmir.

Paying rich tributes to the innocent students Faisal Yusuf Bhat and Mehraj-du-Din Ahmad Dar who were martyred by the army personnel at Chattergam, Mirwaiz expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies with the bereaved family.He assured the family members and entire Kashmir that their sacrifices would not go waste and the struggle would continue till it reaches its logical conclusion.

On the instruction of Mirwaiz, a Hurriyat (M) delegation comprising of senior leaders including Javaid Ahmad Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmad reshi and Jaffer Kashmiri visited the house of two martyred students and passed on the message of condolence from Mirwaiz to the bereaved family members.Meanwhile senior Hurriyat (M) leader Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi has sternly condemned the killing of two youth of Chattergam while addressing a gathering of mourners of Aushoora at Imam Bargah Badgam. He paid rich tributes to the martyred youth.
