Kupwara Football Cup, Under 16, started in Boys Higher Secondary School Kupwara ground on 25 Oct 2014. Consequent to the overwhelming response and the popular demand from the people in Kupwara town and surrounding areas during the Kupwara Football Cup 2013, decision was taken to conduct similar event again for the budding talent of the area.In a statement a defence spokesman said the event was inaugurated with the opening match being played between Govt Middle School Lone Mohalla, Lolab and Rising Star XI on 25 Oct 2014. Govt Middle School Lone Mohalla, Lolab defeated Rising Star XI by three goals to one.
The event was witnessed by Army Officers, Principal and Students of Boys Higher Secondary School Kupwara. A total of 16 teams from Kupwara town and surrounding areas are participating in the tournament to earn the glory of lifting Under 16, Kupwara Football Cup. The tournament is being organized by Boys Higher Secondary School, Kupwara and supported by the locals and the Army authorities in Kupwara Town, he added.
