The Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today asserted that bringing administration nearer to the doorsteps of the common people is the cherished agenda of coalition Government, headed by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah so that grievances of the people are redressed adequately.Speaking to a public gathering after inaugurating newly created Block Development Office at Hafroo Batapora in Chrar-i-Sharief constituency, Mr. Rather said opening of New Administrative Units is a right decision towards this direction.

Rather said present Government has tried to provide basic facilities to the people of the State with focus on remote and backward areas. He also announced to open Government Higher Secondary School at Gogji Pathri adding that it will provide better education facilities to the students of this backward and remote area.

Cautioning the people, Rather asked them not to get swayed by the false propaganda leashed against the achievements of the present Government. He said what could not be achieved in 60 years since independence was done in last 6 years of the present Government which is evident on the ground. He said almost every sector of life underwent a sea change both qualitatively and quantitatively.

He said road connectively saw a boom with hardly any habitation left without road facility. Both education and higher education sectors got massive expansion with Degree Colleges in each district headquarter of the State.Rather asked the people to reject opportunistic political parties who thrive on deceit and lie and change colours like chameleons to hoodwink public opinion for satiating their vested interests. He asked the people especially youth to elect only candidates of integrity and repute to contribute in the reconstruction of the State.
