The results of assembly polls in Haryana largely matched the predictions made by exit polls for the BJP, but the outcome in Maharashtra slightly differed from the projections with the party failing to secure majority on its own.The India TV-C-Voter exit poll for Maharashtra predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party will emerge as the single-largest party in the 288-member assembly getting 124-134 seats. The poll predicted that Shiv Sena would get 51-61 seats, Nationalist Congress Party 31-41 seats and the Congress 38-48 seats.Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena was projected to win 9-15 seats.According to Today's Chanakya's exit poll results, the BJP was projected to get 151 (+ - 9 seats), Shiv Sena 71 (+ - 9 seats), Congress 27 (+ - 5 seats) and NCP 28 (+ - 5 seats). The MNS and others were projected to get 11 (+-5 seats).
The ABP News-Nielsen exit poll predicted that the BJP with its smaller allies was projected to get 127 seats in Maharashtra. It predicted that Shiv Sena will get 77 seats, Congress 40, NCP 34 and MNS five seats.
The C-voter poll, telecast by Times Now channel, predicted that BJP would get 129 seats in Maharashtra, while Congress would get 43 seats, Shiv Sena 56 and NCP 36 seats.For Haryana, the India TV-C Voter predicted BJP getting 34-40 seats in the 90 member assembly. It said that the Indian National Lok Dal would get 25-31 seats. The Congress, which has been in power in the state for the past 10 years, was projected to get 12-18 seats.
The ABP-Neilsen poll said the BJP was predicted to get 46 seats in Haryana, Congress 10 and INLD 29. The poll said that Haryana Janhit Congress might get two seats and other parties three seats.Today's Chanakya predicted that the BJP would win 52 (+-7 seats), INLD 23 (+- 7 seats), Congress 10 (+- 5 seats) and others five (+-3 seats).In Haryana, the BJP got a simple majority with 47 seats in the 90-member house. Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Congress were distant runners-up with 19 and 15 seats, respectively.In Maharshtra, the BJP had by Sunday evening won 119 seats and was leading on another three seats, while its erstwhile ally Shiv Sena had won 59 seats and was likely to bag another four. The Congress had won 41 and was leading on one, while NCP had won 40 and was leading on another seat.
