Security tightened in north Kashmir after IED blast

A day after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion targeted an army convoy in Nadihal area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the security was tightened in whole region with additional deployment of forces, sources said.Two army troopers sustained injuries while their jammer vehicle was damaged after a low IED explosion took place at on Baramulla-Kupwara highway on Thursday.

Following the attack, the security was tightened on Srinagar-Baramulla-Kupwara highway and additional number of security personal were deployment to thwart any attack.Meanwhile, army’s 32 Rashtriya Rifles and police’s Special Operation Group cordoned off Nadihal area and conducted searches on Friday afternoon, a top security official told GNS this evening.The attack was not claimed by any militant group so far.
