Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the people of Haryana had decided to usher in a "Janta Raj" led by Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala and no amount of fixed surveys could make them waver from this goal.Addressing a mammoth gathering in favour of SAD candidate Balwinder Singh Punia here, the SAD president said even during the last assembly elections in Haryana some surveys had been rigged to show the INLD in poor light. "Even now though most genuine surveys are projecting the INLD as the single largest party, few have been fixed".
He said this did not however matter as the people had decided to support the INLD - SAD alliance as it promised an inclusive government in which every section would be duly looked after. "Chautala Sahab is a man of his words like Sardar Parkash Singh Badal and when he says his government would waive off farmer loans up to Rs two lakh, give free tube well connections, provide 25 kilograms of flour to needy families and give scooters to girls he means it. Chautala Sahab would rather sacrifice himself than go back on his words", Mr Badal added.Speaking about SAD candidate Balwinder Punia, the SAD president said Punia had created a name for himself through his responsive, pro people functioning. He said in direct contrast Haryana Jan Chetna candidate Venod Sharma had earned a name for never being available to the people. He said Punia was the right person to take Ambala forward even as he assured to take the help of Chautala Sahab to develop Ambala as per the aspirations of the people.
The SAD president also impressed upon the role played by regional parties in overall development of the nation and said regional parties understood the aspirations of the people of their State. He also appealed to the voters of Haryana to vote for the INLD - SAD combine to bridge the gap created by the Congress between the two States.SAD candidate Balwinder Punia highlighted the arrogance of Jan Chetna party candidate Venod Sharma and said the voters should now teach him a lesson for always ignoring the interests of Ambala City despite being virtual de facto CM of Haryana for a long time.Senior leaders including Prem Singh Chandumajra,'Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, Dr Daljit Cheema, Hira Singh Gabria, N K Sharma, S R Kler and Deepinder Dhillon were also present on the occasion.
