Chief Parliamentary Secretary of Public Works Department, Harmit Singh Sandhu today said that the network of 'Rural Link Roads' would be upgraded in the state. He was speaking to media persons while assuming office as Chief parliamentary Secretary, PWD in the presence of Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia.Sandhu said rural link roads are the lifelines of Punjab and all these roads would be upgraded besides connecting Kaccha Roads, leading to residential areas of people residing in remote areas, with main roads within two years.
He said that a special drive would also be launched to vacate the encroached edges of link roads with a purpose to widened and strengthen the link roads. He said that directions in this regards have been issued to the concerned authorities.
